Many reasons to love Hillsdon Road, Taringa

There are many reasons to love living around Hillsdon Road at Taringa.  Here's
my list of why we love this fabulous pocket of Taringa.

The wonderful old homes and established leafy streets.  You are handy to Moggill Road and the Centenary Motorway.  You are close to a quick drive up to Mt Cootha and it's forest trailways.  It's not too far to drive in to the cbd or get to Coronation Drive bikeway.  You are super handy to the Qld University, just up the road to Rokeby and over Moggill Road on to Swann Road and you are nearly there.  You are close to the fabulous St Lucia Golf Course, such a beautiful public course.  All the fantastic schools are so handy, Indooroopilly State School, Montessori, BBC, Holy Family, Indooroopilly State High, St Peters, Brigidine College and Ironside.  We have some wonderful parks nearby, city views from the ridge tops and some great cycling tracks.  Of course we think the best thing is our little Centre, tucked away in the quiet streets of Taringa for approx 80 years.  Convenience, quality local businesses and a friendly local hub.

Calling Hillsdon Road Centre home is our resident artist Leesa at The LITTLE Art Studio.
The fabulous Abode Cafe, with made on site brekky, lunch, jams, relishes and fantastic coffee by Bron and her friendly staff.
A great Corner Store with new owners Kim & Peter (who have plans to continue to improve whats on offer).
Our brilliant Skin Specialist Annie with Kristy and staff ready to pamper, reinvigorate or just advise you on some divine skin products at Smooth at Taringa.
To help your little ones enjoy and prepare for school, Claire at Mosaic Education
Then our own clean, fast and modern Indooroopilly Laundromat - open every day, to help you get those laundry chores done quicker, easier and more enjoyably.
Don't forget if that washing machine has packed it in, located in the rear of the Centre is Sexton's Washing Machine Repairs, where Peter will repair or replace you laundry equipment.
And of course if your four legged family member is in need of some trimming and love Pampered Pets has been providing locals for over 20 years!

So much to love in our area and we hope that our Centre will continue to provide great service, friendly smiling faces and just a spot to sit and relax in the sun for many more years.

Taringa - History meets Convenience.

Taringa, Taringa our not so little suburb, split by Moggill Road.  We love our little pocket of Taringa and love our little heritage Centre.  We are tucked away and we still meet people who never knew we were here!

We also meet lots of people who remember their Mum's bringing them down here 40 plus years ago to the Butcher who was located where Pampered Pets is now.  Did you know that where Mosaic Education is, used to be a Fish & Chip shop about 25 years ago?  And that Hairdressers used to be where the Laundromat was about 20 years ago?
So much history tied up in one little Centre.  Every week we hear snippets of history, childhood stories and old business owners coming back to check out the new Abode Cafe.  We see locals catching up for the first time in a long time outside in the Courtyard.  We see after Church families enjoying the green space and letting the kids run around the gardens.  We see business people and Real Estate Agents enjoying the quiet space to discuss business.  And all made that more convenient by being able to enjoy the coffee, grab some grocery items, fresh fruit, some Aunty Bron's jam or get the Laundry done.  All in one little Centre.  Easy parking, Bus Stop outside and away from the crazy parking, crowds and long walks of Indooroopilly Shoppingtown!

So if you want simple convenience, easy parking, quiet and to shop local - support small business owners....then pop on down to Hillsdon Road Centre.  It's easy.  Your space, your place,

Mothers Day this Sunday

Mum's where would we all be without them?  I love my Mum and am always thinking of what things I can do or give her on Mothers Day.  So here is a list of ideas for you, following that great 'Shop Local - Support Local' Vision.

1.  Do all of Mum's Laundry!  It would be such a nice way to give her more than one day of rest and relaxation.  Take the laundry in on Sunday to 'Indooroopilly Laundromat', take Mum around to Abode Cafe.  Mum will be sitting out in the sunshine, enjoying the gardens and the views to Mt Cootha, while all the Laundry is done in around an hour!  Easy.

2.  Buy Mum brekky or lunch at the wonderful 'Abode Cafe'.  Open from 7am till 3 pm.  It's a beautiful Cafe in a lovely location, with delicious made on site food and pastries.  You could even pick Mum up some Abode Jams or Relishes as an added gift!!

3.  Why not give Mum some serious relaxation and spoiling....by treating her to a Voucher from 'Smooth at Taringa'  Facials, massage, beautiful products.

4.  How about buying Mum some original artwork from 'The LITTLE Art Studio'?   Go in and see the diverse and beautiful work by local Artist Leesa B.  She even stocks gorgeous jewellery by local craftspeople.

5.  And you want to really spoil her, local Florist 'Friday Flowers'  will be located in the Courtyard selling fresh, seasonal flowers on Friday and Saturday.  Straight from the markets!  A lovely selection of seasonal flowers for all budgets.

We hope we have given you a few great ideas and mostly that you have a wonderful day just enjoying being with your Mum.

We love Mums  <3
